The Vietnamese revolutionary army launched its initial attack against the French colonialists’ heavily fortified base at Dien Bien Phu on March 13, 1954, initiating a historic 56-day campaign. The victory led directly to the signing of the Geneva Accords, ending the war and restoring peace in Indochina.
The parade will be the highlight of several activities commemorating the anniversary of the victory. It will serve to emphasize the significance and historical importance of the Dien Bien Phu victory and the overall development of the Vietnam People’s Army.
