Hanoi to Host Running Course for Francophone Participants This Weekend
Following the success of the first season in 2022, the Francophone University Agency (AUF), the French Embassy in Vietnam and the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) will co-organize the second Francophone running course entitle “Course de la Francophonie” on March 24.
Accordingly, the 2024 Francophone course will officially take place on March 24 at Thong Nhat Park – Thien Quang Lake, Hanoi. More than 1,800 athletes of all ages have registered to participate in this sporting and cultural event for French speakers, French language-lovers and runners.

This year Francophonie course was organized to celebrate Francophonie Month, with the desire to turn the event into an annual activity aimed at strengthening the spirit of solidarity of the French-speaking community in Vietnam, as well as as contributing to realizing the United Nations’ sustainable development goals.
This year, the UN SDG 3 “For a healthy and happy life for communities of all ages” was chosen as the main theme of the event.
Through this event, participants will also have the opportunity to expand their understanding of the Francophone community around the world, explore and exchange cultures, and contribute to personal development in community relationships.
To date, the event has attracted more than 1,800 registrations, including students, lecturers, businesses, diplomatic agencies, foreigners, and Francophone organizations in Hanoi. The race has 3 main distances 2.5km, 5km, and 10km.
With the spirit of “Together,” the Francophone course 2024 is also one of the running events with the most prizes with a total of 37 prizes, for male and female champions of each distance and event; the oldest and youngest athletes of each distance, the earliest registration group, and the largest registration group.
On the sidelines of the event, there will also be many exchange activities and cultural exhibitions with the participation of nearly 40 camps and 28 art performances in French from schools in Hanoi, as well as such organizations, embassies, and Francophone businesses.
