Despite being confined to a wheelchair, Hung embarked on a 10-kilometer journey, joining over 3,000 runners in a display of resilience and courage. The searing heat did not deter the runners, and among them, a man in a wheelchair stood out. Hung’s swift movement and sheer persistence during the race surprised many supporters and inspired those around him. Traveling from Tay Ninh to Tien Giang, a distance of 140 kilometers, Hung arrived early in the morning, eager to take part in the event. His story began when a high fever in his youth left him paralyzed, but this did not stop him from seeking improvement in his health. The Hanoi Heritage Marathon course is designed to meet global standards, offering four standardized distances (5km, 10km, half, and full marathon) certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races.
