Six Vietnamese Universities Featured in 2024 Global University Ranking

Six Universities named in THE World Rankings THE (Times Higher Education) is one of the most famous and influential university rating organizations globally, along with Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) and Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). According to the latest announcement by THE, Vietnam has six higher education institutions in the world university rankings for 2024. The six are Duy Tan University in Da Nang, Ton Duc Thang University in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam National University in Hanoi, Vietnam National University in HCMC, and Hue University. ADB Provides Climate Financing Package for Electric Mobility in Viet Nam

The climate financing package will help develop Viet Nam’s first fully-electric public transport bus fleet and first national electric vehicle (EV) charging network – Illustration photo The package targets to support Viet Nam’s bid to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and facilitate the high-tech automobile manufacturing industry here. The climate financing comprises 7-year tenor financings, including a US$20 million loan funded by ADB, parallel loans of US$87 million facilitated by ADB as mandated lead arranger, and concessional financing of up to US$28 million, reported the VGP. Japan supports Can Tho in cultural development

The instruments will be delivered to the college through the Can Tho Union of Friendship Organisations. Addressing the signing ceremony, Japanese Consul General in HCM City Watanabe Nobuhiro said that universities and colleges in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho have shared a long-standing partnership with Japan. The collaboration is expected to further thrive as more Japanese firms are investing in Vietnam, he said. He revealed that in 2023, many activities will be held in both countries to celebrate the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations. Dominique Tham (Nha Trang Dolphins) It would be no exaggeration to say that Dominique Tham is the biggest discovery of the 2022 VBA.  The born-in-1996 player is 1.95m tall and weighs 109kg. Dominique Tham’s great physique gave opposing defenders ‘nightmares.’ His ball-catching accuracy rate was 7.6 times per game in the 2022 VBA group stage, surpassing that of all other foreign players. He gained a high rebound score of 17.5 and 16.5 points in two games. His shot accuracy was 52 percent, making him the Vietnamese-born player scoring the highest points in the 2022 VBA group stage.
