Vientiane Photo Exhibition: Capturing the Spirit of Vietnam’s Historic April 30 Victory

The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a host of officials and staff from relevant agencies of both nations.

Lao Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Suansavanh Viyaket, addressed the gathering, underscoring the historical significance of the Ho Chi Minh Campaign victory on April 30, 1975.

Minister Viyaket highlighted the enduring bond between the two countries, noting that over the years, former high-ranking leaders, experts, volunteer soldiers, and people of Laos and Vietnam have consistently exchanged visits, shared experiences, and offered mutual support in their respective national development journeys.

According to the minister, the victory on April 30, 1975, was not merely a triumph for Vietnam but a shared victory for the united forces and the special combat alliance between Laos and Vietnam. It also signified a victory for the three Indochinese nations of Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia. This pivotal moment in history has led to political stability and sustained economic growth in Vietnam, improved living standards for its citizens, and a stronger, more prosperous nation.

The exhibition, featuring 120 photographs, artfully captures the profound friendship, solidarity, and extensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. It is open to the public until May 2 at the Lao National Culture Hall in Vientiane.
