THE HANOI TIMES — The city has directed relevant departments, district authorities, and project management boards to enhance oversight of construction sites and enforce safety protocols.
This directive is in response to a recent emergency telegram from the Ministry of Construction, urging cities to prepare for seasonal challenges, especially in areas prone to landslides and flooding.
City agencies overseeing construction, agriculture, environment, urban rail, and high-tech zones are mandated to conduct coordinated inspections. They ensure that contractors implement safety and disaster prevention measures, including structural reinforcement, slope stabilization, and drainage maintenance.
All construction projects, spanning civil, transport, technical infrastructure, and rural development, must adhere to national safety codes and climate risk protocols. Local governments are responsible for identifying high-risk areas and deploying response teams to address potential emergencies promptly.
The instruction underscores the city’s commitment to safeguarding lives and minimizing disruptions to public works in the face of extreme weather events.
