The Scenic Hue: A New Wooden Stage on the Huong River

Officials from Hue’s Thuan Hoa District announced on Tuesday that construction of a unique performance stage on the iconic Perfume River is being accelerated.

This ambitious project is part of a larger plan to transform and enhance the city’s public spaces, with a substantial investment of VND30 billion (approximately US$1.2 million).

The design of the floating wooden stage draws inspiration from the Order of Merit of the Nguyen Dynasty, creating a distinctive and visually appealing performance space. It will be connected to an existing semi-circular wooden stage on the riverbank, providing a one-of-a-kind setting for events with the river as a breathtaking backdrop.

Thua Thien-Hue Hydraulic Construction JSC, the project contractor, assures that the stage will be securely anchored to the riverbed using piles, guaranteeing stability and safety.

The modular design of the stage allows for quick assembly and disassembly, providing flexibility and ease of use for various future events.

With a completion date set for March 26, the stage is poised to host significant cultural events, including the National Tourism Year 2025 and the prestigious 2025 Miss Vietnam pageant.
