At the recent signing ceremony, Peer Naubert, Managing Director of Bundesliga International GmbH, and VFF representatives solidified their commitment to strengthening youth development, coach education, and football management in Vietnam.
Naubert, reflecting on the memorable friendly match between Vietnam and Borussia Dortmund in 2022, expressed his admiration for Vietnamese football and pledged to facilitate more engagements with top German clubs.
He highlighted the successful Dortmund visit, which included a series of impactful activities, and acknowledged the valuable training opportunity for the Vietnamese women’s team in Germany.
Naubert underscored Vietnam’s significance as a key market for the Bundesliga, emphasizing their ongoing initiatives to foster trade cooperation between Vietnamese and German football clubs.
Discussions are already underway to host Dortmund’s youth team in Hanoi for training camps and friendly matches, offering a unique cultural and footballing experience.
When asked about youth football in Vietnam, Naubert commended the country’s abundance of young talent and the VFF’s diligent efforts in identifying and nurturing these future stars.
He assured that the Bundesliga is dedicated to supporting the development of Vietnamese players, with the ultimate goal of seeing them compete in one of the world’s most prestigious football leagues.
Nguyen Van Phu, VFF General Secretary, reiterated the federation’s strategic focus on youth football development through 2030.
He elaborated on the VFF’s memorandum of understanding with the Bundesliga, a pivotal partnership that sets clear objectives for enhancing Vietnamese football. This includes providing Vietnamese youth teams with access to world-class training opportunities in Germany, thereby equipping them with the skills and experience needed to excel on the global stage.
“By offering our youth teams these invaluable international experiences, we aim to lay the foundation for the future success of Vietnamese football,” Phu asserted.
