The Magic of Vietnamese Culture and Art in the Czech Republic: Captivating Hearts, Connecting Generations


The Vietnamese Cultural and Artistic Association in the Czech Republic held its fourth congress on May 25, during which it committed to enhancing its artistic programs over the next four years. The association aims to showcase Vietnamese culture to the international community and foster a sense of solidarity among the Vietnamese diaspora in the region.


To achieve this, the association will focus on preserving and promoting UNESCO-recognized Vietnamese intangible cultural heritage. They will also organize the Mrs. Ao Dai (traditional long dress) contest in Europe, a symbol of Vietnamese elegance and culture.

Additionally, the association plans to train presenters in English language skills and promote Vietnamese language classes, particularly in singing. This will help bridge the cultural gap and engage a wider audience.


Vietnamese Ambassador Duong Hoai Nam commended the association’s efforts, highlighting how their activities have enriched the lives of Vietnamese expatriates and introduced Vietnamese culture to a global audience.


Established in 2008, the association has consistently grown and diversified its offerings with various clubs, dance teams, and singing groups. They have also demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting their homeland by organizing and participating in large-scale events in the Czech Republic and Europe, such as fundraising programs for Vietnam’s sea and island protection and aid for the central region.


With a membership of nearly 100,000 Vietnamese people in the Czech Republic, the association continues to preserve and promote traditional cultural values while serving the interests of the community and the nation.


In recent years, they have organized and collaborated on numerous large-scale programs, including the Miss Vietnamese Europe contest and singing competitions, attracting participants and audiences across Europe.


The association’s dedication to their homeland is evident through their focus on programs supporting Vietnam’s sea and islands, as well as their artistic initiatives for the beloved Central region.


At the fourth congress, an Executive Committee for the term 2024-2028 was elected, consisting of 41 members, with Pham Gia Hau continuing as the association’s president.

ASEAN Graphic Arts Competition and Exhibition 2024: Fostering Bonds of Friendship
