Currently, the international transport volume is rebounding with roughly 16,000 passengers passing through and 170 flights to and from the airport each day.
However, the international output has not yet surpassed the peak level reached before the pandemic in 2019, while the domestic output has not yet surpassed this summer’s peak.
With a series of international airlines reopening in the winter, the volume of international flights to Noi Bai International Airport ahead of the upcoming Lunar New Year, known locally as Tet, is anticipated to enjoy strong growth. This period will see approximately 22,000 passengers and 220 flights per day, reaching about 70% compared to the 2019 Lunar New Year in the pre-pandemic period
The airport is anticipated to welcome about 80,000 passengers and 450 flights during the peak days of the Tet holiday
Noi Bai International Airport has actively implemented detailed plans to meet the increasing demand for travel during the special occasion.
Specifically, the airport plans to open all check-in counters, prepare some backup counters, operate security scanners at full capacity, apply information technology to calculate the peak hours, and co-ordinate with the police force to regulate traffic at the car parking site to create convenience for passengers.
From the early morning of December 31, the airport is crowded with hordes of passengers returning to their hometowns
T1 of the domestic departure terminal is packed with both local and foreign tourists checking in for flights.
Automatic check-in kiosks are chosen by many people.
The second floor lobby of the T1 domestic terminal is always full of cars taking people to and from the airport.
